Help Glasgow Middle School raise funds to help support the Duk County Medical Facility in Sudan.
The students and staff of Glasgow ( a Fairfax County Public School) will be participating in a 10 hour read-a-thon to help support this clinic and make John Dau’s dream a reality. Glasgow students have been learning about Sudan and how they can help. We are invested in being responsible and caring global citizens by identifying what other countries, like Sudan, need to make a positive change in a time of struggle. What can you do to help us help Sudan?
It only takes one…. one idea…. one purpose….. one school to change the world!

The Duk Lost Boys Clinic

Goal: $431,800 – 1st Year Medical Costs
While peace has arrived in southern Sudan, the collapse of the social infrastructure during the long civil war has left most of the region with virtually no health services.
John Dau, the Director of the Direct Change Sudan Project, is from Duk County and started this project with the American Care for Sudan Foundation.
Currently, there is no medical doctor for 75 miles. The clinic whose staff will include a full time doctor, will serve the people of Duk County and the surrounding areas.
While over $220,000 has already been raised to build this seven room-clinic, the lack of accessible roads and getting equipment to this remote area requires additional funds to complete the project.
