Global Camps Africa is a 501C3 not for profit organization that provides 10-day residential camps for children affected by HIV/AIDS in South Africa. Almost 3,000 children have attended our camps and lives are being changed dramatically. Our flagship camp is Camp Sizanani (Sizanani means ‘to help each other’ in Zulu) located in the mountains outside of Johannesburg. Fun is essential to our camps, but equally vital is our program of life skills there kids learn to protect themselves from HIV/AIDS and to defend themselves from exploitation and abuse. With one-third of today’s 15-year olds in South Africa estimated to die from AIDS, the tool is yet another critical element in the war against this horrendous disease. We are making a huge difference…. one child at a time. Without your generous support, the camps would cease to operate, so on behalf of these vulnerable children of South Africa, thank your for your new or continuing support! To paraphrase….”You are are the difference you see in the world.” Contact: Jean White, Global Camps Africa, 1606 Washington Plaza West, Reston, Virginia 20190; jwhite@globalcampsafrica.org
