Lost Boys in the Midwest have formed a foundation to Rebuild Schools Southern Sudan. The purpose of this foundation is build schools in Southern Sudan and have buildings that can be used as communtiy centers and youth centers when the classrooms are not in use. There are many Lost Boys Foundations that help the Lost Boys that have settled in the U.S., but this organization is formed by Lost Boys and they want to help the children that are now living in Southern Sudan. Currently they are holding a fund raiser in St. Charles, Illinois on March 10, 2007 at the Arcada Theater on 105 East main street. They will be showing the 2006 Sundance Film Festival Adward winning film, “God Grew Tired Of Us” and have Manute Bol, a native Sudanese and form NBA star as a guest speaker at 2:00 and 7:00 pm. There will be more than 40 Lost Boys at this event.
Future events will be the guest appearance of Valentino Deng and the author of his autobiography, Dave Eggers who wrote “What Is The What.”
