Duk County is the largest county in the state of Jonglei (Jonglei State in Southern Sudan). It has a total of four Payam namely Duk-Payuel, Panyang, Duk-Padiet and Athany. There is a population of 140,288 residents without healthcare, school, clean water, electricity, food you name it.
Before Sudanese conflict became a part of Sudan life; people used to use fruits from wild trees to treat minor diseases (or one day diseases) like malaria and diarrhea, but those thoughts took them nowhere. Nonetheless, though the country seems to have peace agreement in place; the people of the Duk County have no absolute medical supply nearby and it had no clinic ever existed in the past. Currently, if a person is seeking for medical assistance she/he has to travel hundred miles away to get medical attention. However, since Sudan was Country that had been torn for the long civil war, thus there is unnecessary good healthcare facility available.
Furthermore, building Duk Lost Boys Clinic will be the primarily key home to treat simple diseases such as Malaria, yellow fever, chicken pox, Diarrhea, malnourishment, Bilharzias, h- worms, Guinea-worm and kalazer. These diseases seem minors but, our people in Duk country as well as Sudan are still suffering and possible dies from these curable diseases, can you imagine.
All in all, brothers and sisters, every donation you make to the Duk Lost Boys Clinic is count. Please, yours dollar can rescue millions of lives, especially to the people of Duk County.
