I quote from Katherine Nehring’s last letter (she is a Peace Corps volunteer working with Victory Way), : “I think that people here have been jaded by the number of organizations that don’t do anything productive with their financing, but if they’ve had a chance to see for themselves that their gift will really go to children in need, they are really willing to give.”
Coming as this does from someone who is on the front lines of the work to raise the spirits and improve the lives of some of the planet’s vulnerable people, I embrace this observation as a core element of the Direct Change creed – when people understand that donations go straight into meeting the daily needs of children like those under Victory Way’s care, they will give with confidence and satisfaction.

The program supports orphans at school, through providing them with school fees, school supplies, uniforms, and follow-up visits, as well as the creation of a study center for weekly tutoring sessions and a nutritious meal. Victory Way serves 330 orphans and vulnerable children in the greater Parakou of northern Benin, ranging in age from approximately 5 to 18.
$120 = full support for 1 child for a year (food, clothing, academic support + tutoring)
